Welcome to RIFF Film Club (“RIFF Film Club”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). RIFF Film Club is a film and cinema-focused community platform dedicated to promoting cinema appreciation, film education, screenings, discussions, workshops, networking and related creative activities.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your membership, participation in RIFF Film Club activities, and use of services provided by RIFF Film Club. By applying for membership, purchasing a membership, registering for an event, attending a screening, workshop or other RIFF Film Club activity, or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms.

1. MEMBERSHIP
1.1 Eligibility

Membership of RIFF Film Club may be available to individuals who are interested in cinema, filmmaking, film education, film appreciation, creative arts and related activities, subject to the membership criteria specified by RIFF Film Club.

RIFF Film Club reserves the right to approve, reject or review any membership application at its discretion, subject to applicable law.

1.2 Membership Registration

Members are required to provide accurate and complete information during registration, including, where applicable:

Full name
Email address
Mobile number
Gender
Date of birth or age, where required
Address/city/country/state
Profession or area of interest
Photograph or identification information, where required
Any other information reasonably required for membership administration

Members are responsible for ensuring that the information provided remains accurate and up to date.

1.3 Membership Confirmation

Membership becomes active only after:

Submission of the required membership information;
Acceptance/approval by RIFF Film Club, where applicable; and
Successful payment of the applicable membership fee, where applicable.

RIFF Film Club may issue a digital or physical membership card/certificate or other confirmation of membership.

1.4 Membership Fees

Membership fees, subscription charges or other applicable charges will be communicated through the official RIFF Film Club website, registration form, event page or other official communication channel.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, membership fees are separate from fees charged for individual workshops, masterclasses, special screenings, festivals, merchandise or other paid activities.

1.5 Membership Period

Membership will remain valid for the period specified at the time of registration.

Membership may expire automatically at the end of the applicable membership period unless renewed in accordance with RIFF Film Club's then-current membership terms.

1.6 Membership Benefits

Depending on the membership category, members may receive benefits such as:

Access to selected RIFF Film Club screenings;
Invitations to film screenings and cinema-related events;
Member discounts on selected workshops, masterclasses and activities;
Participation in film discussions and networking sessions;
Access to selected educational and film-related resources;
Opportunities to interact with filmmakers, artists, technicians and film professionals;
Priority registration for selected activities;
Participation in member-only initiatives; and
Other benefits announced by RIFF Film Club from time to time.

Membership benefits may vary according to the membership category and availability.

Membership does not guarantee admission to every screening, event, workshop or activity.

2. EVENT AND SCREENING ACCESS

RIFF Film Club may organize:

Film screenings;
Film festivals and special screenings;
Filmmaker interactions;
Masterclasses;
Workshops;
Panel discussions;
Film appreciation sessions;
Networking events;
Educational programmes; and
Other cinema and creative activities.

Participation may be subject to separate registration, ticketing, capacity limitations, venue rules or eligibility requirements.

Even where an activity is offered to members without an additional charge, advance registration may be required.

RIFF Film Club reserves the right to change the venue, date, timing, programme, film, speaker, filmmaker or other event details when reasonably necessary.

3. FILM SCREENING TERMS

Films screened through RIFF Film Club may be provided by filmmakers, producers, distributors, rights holders, institutions or other authorized parties.

RIFF Film Club does not claim ownership of films or audiovisual content unless expressly stated.

All screening content remains subject to the copyright and other intellectual-property rights of the respective rights holders.

Members and attendees must not:

Record a film screening;
Photograph or reproduce substantial portions of a film;
Stream, broadcast, upload or distribute screening content;
Share unauthorized copies of films; or
Otherwise infringe the rights of the film's copyright holder.

Mobile phones and recording devices may be required to be switched off or kept away during screenings.

4. WORKSHOPS, MASTERCLASSES AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

RIFF Film Club may provide or facilitate workshops, masterclasses, lectures, discussions and other educational programmes.

The availability, faculty, speakers, curriculum, schedule and format may vary from programme to programme.

Participation in an educational programme does not constitute a guarantee of employment, professional placement, film production opportunities, financial returns or career advancement.

Any certificates issued by RIFF Film Club are subject to the eligibility and attendance requirements specified for the relevant programme.

5. MEMBERSHIP CONDUCT

Members are expected to maintain respectful and professional conduct while participating in RIFF Film Club activities.

Members must not:

Harass, threaten or intimidate other members, guests, speakers or staff;
Engage in discriminatory or abusive behaviour;
Disrupt screenings, workshops or events;
Damage venue property or RIFF Film Club property;
Use membership for unlawful activities;
Misrepresent themselves as an authorized representative of RIFF Film Club;
Share another member's personal information without permission;
Record or distribute restricted event content; or
Engage in any activity that may adversely affect RIFF Film Club, its members, partners, filmmakers or venues.

RIFF Film Club may take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of membership, in cases of serious or repeated misconduct.

6. MEMBERSHIP CARD / MEMBER CREDENTIALS

Where a membership card, digital credential, QR code, membership number or other identification is issued:

It is personal to the registered member;
It must not be transferred or sold;
It must not be used by another person;
Members may be required to present valid identification at events; and
Lost or misused credentials should be reported to RIFF Film Club.

RIFF Film Club may deactivate or replace membership credentials where reasonably necessary.

7. MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER

Membership is generally non-transferable unless RIFF Film Club expressly approves a transfer in writing.

A member may not sell, assign, lend or otherwise transfer their membership benefits to another person.

8. CANCELLATION, SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

RIFF Film Club may suspend or terminate membership if a member:

Violates these Terms;
Provides false or misleading information;
Engages in misconduct;
Attempts to misuse membership benefits;
Engages in unlawful activity; or
Acts in a manner that materially harms the interests, reputation, safety or functioning of RIFF Film Club.

Where appropriate, RIFF Film Club may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue before termination.

Membership may also be cancelled by the member by contacting RIFF Film Club through the official communication channels.

9. REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Membership fees and programme fees are generally non-refundable unless otherwise specified by RIFF Film Club or required under applicable law.

If RIFF Film Club cancels or materially changes a paid event, the applicable refund, credit or alternative arrangement, if any, will be communicated to registered participants.

Refund policies may vary for individual screenings, workshops, masterclasses, festivals and other programmes.

Any applicable refund will be processed using the payment method or procedure specified by RIFF Film Club.

10. SERVICES

RIFF Film Club may provide or facilitate cinema-related services and opportunities, including but not limited to:

Film screenings and curated programmes;
Film appreciation and educational programmes;
Workshops and masterclasses;
Filmmaker and industry interactions;
Networking opportunities;
Film-related promotional activities;
Film discussions and panel sessions;
Film community development;
Festival-related activities;
Film education initiatives; and
Other services or activities related to cinema and the creative industries.

Specific services may be governed by additional terms, agreements, registration forms or service-specific policies.

11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND PARTNERS

RIFF Film Club may collaborate with filmmakers, producers, educational institutions, venues, sponsors, cultural organizations, service providers and other third parties.

Where a third party independently provides a product or service, the terms of that third party may also apply.

RIFF Film Club is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, products or services of third parties except to the extent required by applicable law.

12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The RIFF Film Club name, logo, branding, website content, graphics, photographs, text, promotional material and other original content may be protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Members may not reproduce, modify, distribute, commercially exploit or use RIFF Film Club branding or proprietary content without prior written permission.

The intellectual property rights in films, trailers, posters, photographs, music, artwork and other third-party content remain with their respective owners.

13. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO AND MEDIA COVERAGE

RIFF Film Club events may be photographed, filmed or recorded for documentation, publicity, archival and promotional purposes.

By attending an RIFF Film Club event, participants acknowledge that they may appear incidentally in photographs, video recordings or other event documentation.

Where specific consent is legally required, RIFF Film Club will follow the applicable consent requirements.

If you have a specific concern regarding your appearance in promotional material, you may contact RIFF Film Club.

14. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY

RIFF Film Club may collect and process personal information necessary for membership administration, event registration, communication, payment processing and related activities.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection laws and RIFF Film Club's applicable Privacy Policy.

Members should review the Privacy Policy for information about how personal data is collected, used, stored and shared.

15. COMMUNICATIONS

By becoming a member, you may receive communications relating to:

Membership;
Screening schedules;
Events;
Workshops;
Masterclasses;
Film-related opportunities;
Important announcements; and
Other RIFF Film Club activities.

Where required, members may have the option to unsubscribe from promotional communications. Transactional or essential membership communications may continue where necessary.

16. WEBSITE AND ONLINE PLATFORM USE

Members using the RIFF Film Club website or online services must not:

Attempt unauthorized access;
Introduce malicious code or harmful software;
Interfere with website operations;
Scrape or reproduce content without permission;
Submit fraudulent information; or
Use the website for unlawful purposes.

RIFF Film Club may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of its website or online services when reasonably necessary.

17. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

RIFF Film Club will take reasonable steps to provide its services and organize activities safely and professionally.

However, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RIFF Film Club shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from participation in its activities, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded.

Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings, travel arrangements and personal expenses unless expressly stated otherwise.

18. CHANGES TO PROGRAMMES AND SERVICES

RIFF Film Club may modify, postpone, reschedule or cancel a screening, workshop, event or programme due to circumstances including but not limited to:

Venue availability;
Technical issues;
Government or regulatory requirements;
Filmmaker or speaker availability;
Force majeure events;
Safety considerations; or
Other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

RIFF Film Club will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes to registered participants.

19. FORCE MAJEURE

RIFF Film Club shall not be liable for failure or delay in providing services caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, public emergencies, strikes, technical failures, venue closures, transportation disruptions or other force majeure events.

20. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

RIFF Film Club may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in its services, programmes, membership structure or applicable legal requirements.

The updated Terms may be published on the official RIFF Film Club website.

Continued use of RIFF Film Club services or continued membership after the effective date of updated Terms may constitute acceptance of the revised Terms, subject to applicable law.

21. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.

Subject to applicable law, disputes arising in connection with these Terms or RIFF Film Club membership or services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

23. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By registering for RIFF Film Club membership, purchasing a membership, registering for an event or programme, or participating in RIFF Film Club activities, you confirm that:

You have read and understood these Terms;
You agree to comply with these Terms;
The information provided by you is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and
You agree to comply with applicable laws, venue rules and event-specific requirements.

RIFF Film Club reserves the right to interpret and administer these Terms in accordance with applicable law.
